on 13 october 2026, Digi24 published a feature on nicelium™.
airports, shopping centres and company headquarters share one condition. thousands of people drop waste every day. few of them read the labels.
founder Alexandra Chișiu told Digi24 that the confusion is visible in malls. people stand at the bin, unsure where an item goes. the item goes in the wrong fraction. one wrong item contaminates the rest.
the automatic sorting bin removes the decision. the user drops the item. the unit sorts it. according to Digi24, this takes about 3 seconds.
the numbers behind it, as verified by nicelium™: 94.1% sorting accuracy at latest event. average at 90%. contamination reduced from over 60% to under 9%.
Digi24 notes that the project holds €1.6m in european funding and was presented at a sustainability fair in Paris. the units are designed for commercial spaces with constant foot traffic: airports, shopping centres, office buildings.
conversations are open. series production is planned for mid 2027.
a commercial space does not need a campaign to teach visitors to sort.
it needs a bin that sorts. facility teams get cleaner fractions and fewer rejected loads.
the building gets data at the point of disposal.
